Le Havre : le prestigieux paquebot de la compagnie Cunard, le "Queen Mary II"

The cruise destination

Le Havre : les passagers des paquebots en escale profitent d'une magnifique vue sur la ville

The port of Le Havre is ideally located on the route between the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. It has all the facilities required for welcoming the smallest to the largest cruise ships around the clock. The variety of tourist attractions available in Le Havre, Normandy and Paris attracts the loyalty of visitors as, all year round, each stopover offers a range of new exciting excursions for both maritime and river cruises.

Having shot to the top of the list of cruise destinations in Northern Europe by being marketed as "Le Havre, The Gateway to Paris" and with the approach of its 500 year anniversary, Le Havre now wishes to highlight its own assets to cruise passengers, such as its World Heritage-listed 20th century architecture, its status as the birthplace of Impressionism and a seaside resort, as well as that of being a 'City of Art and History'. Joining the 500-year celebrations in Le Havre will be the opportunity to discover a modern and enterprising port city, open to the world.

Les Géants des mers prennent la pose

Local Le Havre ship lovers, Normans and tourists enjoy this unending ballet of giants arriving and leaving from the entrance to the port.

In Le Havre, the cruise ships can be captured on camera from many different places.

Passionate photographers or simply curious passers-by get out their cameras along Chaussée Kennedy near the harbour master’s office; near the edge of the water on the pebbly beach; or on Rue de Paris, where the ship creates a backdrop to this long straight road.

For those who want to capture the spectacle another way, rue Félix Faure and the Hanging Gardens provide other unique viewpoints of the city and the cruise ships.

The photos are often published on the Facebook page and Instagram account of Le Havre cruises with the hashtag #cruiselehavre. Just follow the crackle of the flashes to discover other secret places to photograph these impressive visitors.
