Le Havre cruises have the wind in their sails !

Premier French cruise port of the European West Coast, Le Havre, World Heritage, birthplace of Impressionism, benefits from a privileged nautical and geographical location. Located only 200 km away from the French worldwide renowned capital, Paris, Le Havre holds major assets to develop cruise tourism as a transit port and as a turnaround port. Gateway between the Northern Seas and the Atlantic Ocean, the port of Le Havre is accessible 24 hours a day. The port of Le Havre has the capacity to host the biggest cruises ships in service in the world. Regarding shore-excursions, even if Paris remains one of the must-sees, Normandy holds undisputed tourist sites such as the D-Day beaches, Honfleur, Etretat and Giverny which attract a lot of tourists. The economic impact of Cruise tourism is important for the conurbation of Le Havre. Almost 50 % of the cruise passengers spend their time ashore to explore the city itself and the surrounding area.

70 calls in 2010, 97 in 2011, 107 in 2012 and already 124 calls scheduled in 2013... cruise development is booming at Le Havre with 40 % passenger more every year. This is the result of a long-term work carried out by the Greater Le Havre Tourist Office and the investments made by the City of Le Havre to accompany the development of this activity.

The Cruise Terminal is fully equipped to handle turnarounds with check-in counters, luggage storage, x-ray machines, boutique, information center... After Costa, RCCL, Windstar Cruises, Oceania Cruises and Cunard, MSC will operate turnarounds from Le Havre in 2013.
